American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS):  A professional society dedicated to the  application of science to the law. 

American Academy of Nursing:  The American Academy of Nursing is an organization of distinguished leaders in nursing who have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to the profession and to health care. 

American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law (AAPL):  AAPL---pronounced "apple"---is an organization of psychiatrists dedicated to excellence in practice, teaching, and research in forensic psychiatry.

American Bar Association (ABA):  Choose this site to obtain a wealth of information that is offered by the ABA.

American Board of Examiners (ABE) in Clinical Social Work:  The American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work (ABE) issues a credential, the Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work (BCD), to advanced clinical social workers nationwide. 

American College of Forensic Examiners:  With more than 13,000 members, ACFE is the largest professional membership association representing forensic examiners from a wide variety of backgrounds.  Provides general information, CE information, forensic links, and more.

American College of Forensic Psychology:  The American College of Forensic Psychology is an association that serves psychologists from the United States, Canada and abroad, who offer their services to the legal profession in the capacity of expert witnesses in civil and criminal courts and as consultants to attorneys who litigate cases involving mental health disability issues. 

American Medical Association (AMA):  Link to the home page to the AMA.  Find a wealth of information from an association of physicians dedicated to the health of America.

American Nurses Association:  Includes links to state nurses associations, American nurses credentialing center, the ANA 2000 Convention, the American Nurses Foundation, online issues of journals in nursing, the American Academy of Nursing, and more.

American Psychiatric Association (APA):  The American Psychiatric Association is a medical specialty society recognized world-wide. Its 40,500 U.S. and international physicians specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of mental and emotional illnesses and substance use disorders. Click on this site for public and professional information.

American Psychological Association (APA):  APA's home page provides links to information for psychologists, students, and the public.  Get information about the APA, their products and services, publications, and programs and offices.  Use APA's Search Tools, and be sure to check out the new PsycLAW site by APA.

American Psychological Society (APS):  The leading national organization dedicated solely to the science of psychology. 

American Psychology - Law Society (AP-LS):  In addition to recent news and events, get information on AP-LS, graduate education in psychology and law, teaching, research, publishing, and other professional organizations and activities.

American Therapeutic Recreation Association:  Provides membership application, standards of practice, code of ethics, career information, resources, conferences and workshops, newsletters, legislative updates, and more.

Bar Associations & Organizations:  Includes links to state bar associations, specialty bar associations, national bar associations, international bar associations, and foreign bar associations.

British Psychological Society (BPS):  The BPS, founded in 1901, exists to promote the advancement of the study of psychology and its applications, and to maintain high standards of professional education and conduct.

Canadian Psychological Association (CPA):  The CPA provides information on careers, organizations, membership, publications, conventions, and more.  

Centre for Crime and Justice Studies:  As a non-campaigning body, the Institute now exists to bring together criminal justice practitioners, sentencers, policy makers and academics through a programme of conferences, courses, seminars, lectures, study visits, research and publications.

National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH):  Practitioners, researchers, and the public can obtain information on recent news and events, clinical trials, funding opportunities, and research.

National League for Nursing (NLN):  The NLN advances quality nursing education that prepares the nursing workforce to meet the needs of diverse populations in an ever-changing health care environment. 

National Therapeutic Recreation Society:  The National Therapeutic Recreation Society (NTRS) is a membership organization for those who are interested in the provision of therapeutic recreation services for persons with disabilities in clinical facilities and in the community. NTRS members include practitioners, administrators, educators, volunteers, students and consumers. 

New York State Therapeutic Recreation Association:  This site provides numerous therapeutic recreation links, as well as additional links of interest, and links to news, products and conferences.

Professional Physical Therapy Associations:  Provides on-line links to over 20 professional physical therapy associations.

Social Work Associations and Organizations:  Including NASW, CSWF, CASW, state chapters, international associations, other social work and miscellaneous associations.

Social Work Associations and Organizations - Additional:  Includes more social work associations and an opportunity to sign up for a free e-mail newsletter.

State & Provincial Psychological Associations:  Obtain the phone numbers and addresses of state or provincial psychological associations.  If the association has a web page, you can link to it from here as well.
